We haven’t done much fishing ourselves in the area (though it is on our list of things we want to do!). We have been told that there are some fantastic fishing spots locally, especially on the River Dyfi (which is a 5 – 10 minute drive from the BGF cottage). Apparently salmon and sea trout are in abundance.
Much of the fishing is controlled by the New Dovey Fishery Association, which is based in Machynlleth. They sell daily, weekly and season permits to visitors for a 15 mile stretch of the river. We believe that a daily permit is in the region of £15-20.
There is a great summary of fishing the Dyfi which can be found here.
