Rooms

We have tried very hard to make the kitchen the heart of the cottage. A Stanley oil fired stove heats the whole house, and can also be used for cooking. If you prefer more modern methods, there is also an electric oven and hob.

We like big dinners in our family - so a big kitchen table was essential for us. It can seat up to 8 people comfortably (and you could probably squeeze an extra few on if needed!).

We installed a brand new fridge freezer and a dishwasher in 2016.

There are plenty of pans, dishes, crockery, cutlery, glasses etc, so you should be covered for anything you want to cook and eat!

See photos of the kitchen here.

The sitting room still has the original inglenook fireplace, along with a breadoven (unfortunately no longer useable!). There is a log burning stove that can be lit to ensure you stay warm on wet and windy winter evenings.

A perfect room to have drinks before dinner, or just to sit back and read a book.

The sofa turns into a (small) sofa bed, so a bit more sleeping capacity if required.

One of our favourite pastimes is collapsing into the sofa and watching a good film at the end of a long day. So we made sure that we had a room that was fit for purpose!

There is a 42 inch flat screen TV on the wall (perfect for watching the rugby!) along with freeview, a DVD player and surround sound. We also have a small collection of DVDs that you are welcome to watch.

For those with some musical talent, there is a piano which we try and keep tuned... feel free to use any of the music we have.

The room also has an open fire - perfect to snuggle up to if you've been for a long walk/ bike ride/ round of golf.

Really more of a utility corridor... but a useful space if you need to do a bit of laundry.

We equipped the cottage with a brand new washing machine and tumble dryer in 2016, as well as an iron, ironing board and a clothes dryer.

The cottage has three bedrooms - the master bedroom and the green bedroom both have double beds, and the blue bedroom has a bunk bed, suitable for both adults and children.

The beds come fully made up.

All bedrooms have chests of drawers, and the master bedroom has a wardrobe.

The bathroom was fully refurbished in 2016. We had the original cast iron bathtub from the cottage fully reconditioned, and also installed a state of the art shower with Lefroy Brooks fittings.

The bathroom has a loo, a sink, underfloor heating and a heated towel rail.

There is a second loo upstairs as well.
