Bwlch y Groes Faen (or BGF as we call it for short) is a traditional Welsh cottage nestled into the hills above the Mid Wales market town of Machynlleth.
The cottage lies in Glaspwll, just at the entrance of the beautiful Llyfnant Valley. Machynlleth is a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk away.
Bwlch y Groes Faen means 'pass of the stone cross' in Welsh. This may refer to the fact that a stone cross used to sit on the ancient pass on which the cottage is sited - the cottage sits on a hill called the Wylfa, which dates back to Roman times - or that the road itself was laid with stones. The road going past the cottage is a historic one leading to the Plynlumon foothills and is now host to two famous Welsh walks, Glyndŵr's Way and the Wales Coastal Path.
The cottage sleeps 6 comfortably in three double bedrooms. There is also a sofa bed that sleeps a further person (or two at a squeeze!) if needed. A full overview of the rooms in the house can be found here, and a list of facilities can be found here.
